For many people it can be challenging to identify and use the most appropriate ocean practice for their work. This may be because they lack training, collaborators, equipment, knowledge, or funding. The OBPS is committed to developing capacity among individuals and countries to develop and apply ocean best practices. We recognise that what may be ‘best’ at a well-funded institution is not necessarily the same for those people, institutions, or countries with limited resources. You can see examples of how the OBPS is helping with capacity development through the ADAPT project and the Task Team on Coastal Observations in Under-resourced Countries. The OBPS has also created a range of training materials to help develop capacity.
